Shell Cordovan is an equine leather made exclusively from a fibrous membrane with is located beneath the horsehide on the rump. From a horsehide, exclusively 2 shells of about 2 sqf can be obtained, with a roughly total footage of 4 sqf of Shell Cordovan.

For this second batch we're bringing back the color #8 Jumper and introducing the all new NST Boot in Dark Cognac Horween Shell. A stunning mid brown shade with tones that varie a lot in depending on the lighting; ranging from a light cognac to a deep dark brown.

Since 1905, Horween Leather Company has been producing some of the finest leathers for shoemaking and other sectors in Chicago, IL. Horween Leather Co. is widely known because of its products, quality & its tradition, and it is for a good reason.
All shells undergo a very complex and long process following very specific steps during its tanning & production that make this leather so good for shoemaking. To summarize the process and simplify it, here are a few of the most representative steps of it: They're all slow vegetable tanned in pits where each shell is slowly steeped in gentle vegetable liquors, then shells are hot stuffed and then slicked onto glass frames to dry. To complete the process shells are aniline dyed and hand glazed to achieve its characteristic unique luster & feel. This time consuming process takes about six months.

Für die Einführung des Farbtons Dark Cognac haben wir ein neues NST Stiefelmuster vorbereitet - das Modell #101205.
Dieser neue NST-Stiefel ist vollständig von Hand gespritzt und Goodyear-gerahmt auf dem runden und voluminösen HOK-Leisten. Speziell für diesen Stil wurde ein dickerer Sturm-Rahmen verwendet, der speziell dafür entwickelt wurde, besser zu unseren voluminösen Leisten zu passen, um einen lässigeren und flacheren Look zu erzielen.
Der HOK hat sich wegen seines Aussehens, aber vor allem wegen seiner wirklich bequemen und stützenden Passform schnell zu einem echten Kundenliebling entwickelt.
Das Obermaterial ist mit einer verstärkten Zuglasche aus Stoff und bei diesem neuen Modell mit 5 Paar Ösen sowie 4 Paar massiven Messinghaken für zusätzlichen Komfort ausgestattet. Wie beim Jumper Boot haben wir auch bei diesem NST viel an der Rückenpartie gearbeitet, um sicherzustellen, dass sie sich perfekt anpasst und einen außergewöhnlichen Halt bietet. Die Schürzen werden vollständig von Hand genäht, um sicherzustellen, dass sie perfekt zu den HOK-Leisten passen.
Made using thick vegetable tanned leather insoles, fully calf leather lined with the beautiful veg-tan French calf from Tanneries Du Puy & fitted with a close channel stitch leather sole.
Needless to say that, when the time comes, this boot is fully recraftable. These Boots are truly sturdy enough to last a lifetime if properly taken care of.
