Shell Cordovan is an equine leather made exclusively from a fibrous membrane with is located beneath the horsehide on the rump. From a horsehide, exclusively 2 shells of about 2 sqf can be obtained, with a roughly total footage of 4 sqf of Shell Cordovan.

Since 1905, Horween Leather Company has been producing some of the finest leathers for shoemaking and other sectors in Chicago, IL. Horween Leather Co. is widely known because of its products, quality & its tradition, and it is for a good reason.
All shells undergo a very complex and long process following very specific steps during its tanning & production that make this leather so good for shoemaking. To summarize the process and simplify it, here are a few of the most representative steps of it: They're all slow vegetable tanned in pits where each shell is slowly steeped in gentle vegetable liquors, then shells are hot stuffed and then slicked onto glass frames to dry. To complete the process shells are aniline dyed and hand glazed to achieve its characteristic unique luster & feel. This time consuming process takes about six months.

Para la introducción del tono Dark Cognac hemos preparado un nuevo patrón de bota NSTel modelo #101205.
Esta nueva bota NST está completamente soldada a mano y con Goodyear Welted en la redonda y voluminosa HOK horma, y más específicamente para este estilo utilizando una gruesa soldadura de tormenta - más gruesa y especialmente diseñada para ajustarse mejor a nuestras hormas más voluminosas, para un aspecto más casual y plano.
El HOK se ha convertido rápidamente en un verdadero favorito de los clientes por su aspecto, pero sobre todo por su ajuste verdaderamente cómodo y de apoyo.
Uppers come with a reinforced fabric pull tab and on this new pattern, fitted with 5 pairs of eyelets plus 4 pairs of solid brass speed-hooks for and added comfort. As we did with the Jumper Boot pattern, on this NST we've worked a lot on the back-part, ensuring it adjusts perfectly to provide an exceptional support. Aprons are fully hand-sewn to ensure they perfectly fit the HOK last lines.
Made using thick vegetable tanned leather insoles, fully calf leather lined with the beautiful veg-tan French calf from Tanneries Du Puy & fitted with a close channel stitch leather sole.
Needless to say that, when the time comes, this boot is fully recraftable. These Boots are truly sturdy enough to last a lifetime if properly taken care of.
